Some years ago, I placed on the Icon programming language newsgroup the code
for a "Visually Equivalent Jewish/Civil Calendar."
I have now rewritten this for HTML, and placed it on the World Wide Web. You
can try it at:
http://www.uwm.edu/cgi-bin/corre/calendar
I was quite surprised how quickly I was able to emend the code. Of course, I
had been thinking about it for several days, but it only took me a couple of
hours when I sat down. Icon is nice for this kind of thing. Most of the work
was subtraction -- you don't need to bother about all that screen control
stuff, and gobbledegook ANSI escape codes become meaningful tags. The
browsers take care of so much.
Any comments on the calendar will be appreciated before I try to announce it
to a larger audience.
